Digital Connection Project
Love and connection seem to be fleeting in our every day experiences. We look down at our phones when we walk down the street, on the subway, in our cars, at dinner, even with our children. We are so focused on our screens, we forget how important eye contact and stillness really are. Are we forgetting how to show each other love, how to really see other people and ourselves?
This installation uses screen technology to reference the lack of physical intimacy we experience but instead of texts or funny videos we see love. Instead of a violent video games or self hatred inducing commercials we find connection. When this connection is felt, are we then able to see ourselves and each other again? Can the void created by technology be filled by it? This installation questions where that line is drawn.
