My work addresses the female body through art historical and eastern religious references.  I visually distort the body from conventional, sexualized, female poses to create new forms that symbolize personal struggle.  I strip down to my raw self, articulating my emotions and find myself naked. I use a mirror to examine my physical self as a representation rather than searching within. The kaleidoscopic images I create through reflection are reminiscent of a Mandala: the inner search for peace of mind. Paradoxically the female body becomes a meditative space that is both internally and externally transformed. My work is a subversion of how the female body has typically been represented. I strive to create a new language for looking at the female form.  I ask the audience to gaze into the images with me, contemplating the divine form from a different perspective.
